That's horrible. I've had a few people contact me saying they'd like to donate money. Fortunately, none of them want any information other than my name and address, which doesn't bother me too much because I mean, you can find that in the phone book anyway. Red flags start going up for me when they ask for other personal information, like my social security and such. All things I know not to give out.
I'd unfortunate that there are people out there who are cruel enough to take advantage of someone in need...
But I guess that's life. Have faith, there are people out there who really do want to help.
